Supernatural Acceleration At our pastors retreat in November, we were praying and suddenly a word came to me. I said it over and over and then understanding came. The word was “acceleration”. As I continued to speak it, it expanded into supernatural acceleration. And the word came, “Things that used to take a long time will take less time. Things that took a year will take a month. Things that took a month will take a week. Things that took a week will take only one day. Salvations will come quicker. Breakthroughs and blessings will come quicker. Provision will come quicker. Resources, buildings, equipment, vehicles, personnel will be added quicker. Judgment will come quicker.” I believe this was a prophetic word for our work here in Austria. I believe that the next months and years will be marked by supernatural acceleration. We have been doing well but things have been moving at too slow a pace. I believe God wants us to accelerate. I believe He wants to help us move faster and reach further. I have heard the exact same words from other ministers and missionaries that I know. We need to go faster and further, and God will grant us supernatural acceleration! When I shared this with our staff, some of them got nervous. One of them said, “I was hoping for a time of deceleration!” I understand completely! We are always very busy, and we are already doing so much. I explained that supernatural acceleration is not referring to us working harder and doing more, it is referring to the Holy Spirit doing more! “It’s not by might, not by power but by My Spirit” says the Lord! I believe that we are going to experience more of His supernatural working. More of His grace. More of His provision. More favor. More power. More leading and guiding. I believe He is going to make us more efficient. Truth be told, I believe that we will do less, and He will do more. Sometimes we are doing so many things in our own strength and power. Some of the things we do, we are doing simply because we have always done them in the past. Sometimes we are doing things that He never led us to do but which we have taken on for one reason or the other. We need His help more than ever. Without Him we can do nothing! Once in a time of prayer the Lord said to me, “Fred, you are not smart enough to do everything I called you to do.” I had to laugh! I thought I already knew that but apparently, I had to be reminded. Sometimes we need to be reminded that we can’t do anything without Him. Too often we jump quickly into action and don’t wait for His leading and help. It is so easy to start working in our own power, ability, gifting, and knowledge. We are not smart enough, strong enough, rich enough, wise enough to do what He’s called us to do! It’s not by might, not by power but by His Spirit! More of Him and less of us! When we are yoked together with Him, things are going to be easier NOT harder. Things are going to progress faster NOT slower! When we are revived, everything is easier. When we are filled with the Spirit life is better! Some prophecies are conditional, and I believe there are a few conditions to this one. To accelerate we will have to make some changes. To experience anything new, you must do something different. But these are positive changes, and they aren’t really that hard. For example, to accelerate we must reduce weight, overcome resistance, and increase power. Reduce Weight! An entry level or intermediate racing bike weighs between 20-25 pounds (9 -11.5 kg). The bike ridden by Jonas Vingegard, (the winner of the Tour de France in 2022), weighed just under 15 lbs. (6.8 kg) Less weight means you can go faster! What is it that is burdening you? Are there heavy things in your life slowing you down? Are there worries, fears or sorrows? Dear friend, we need to overcome them if we want to move ahead. The only way to do this is to cast them on the Lord. 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all of your cares on the Lord for He cares for you! We also must reduce the chaos and clutter! Too much external clutter causes mental clutter and can slow you down. Studies published in the Journal for Neuroscience claim that “Clutter can increase stress levels, make it difficult to focus, take a toll on relationships, and more”. In the “Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin” one wrote, “Clutter can affect our general mental health, making us feel stressed, anxious, or depressed.” Ecclesiastes 3:1,6b To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to keep, and a time to throw away; It’s time to declutter! Do you own anything that you never use or no longer need, like clothes that don't fit anymore or old electronic devices? It’s time to get rid of things. Maybe you can sell some stuff and make a few dollars! Some of that stuff is just trash cluttering up your life. It makes it harder to find the things that you really need! Clutter can be digital. Maybe you never get around to clearing out your email inbox or organizing the documents on your computer. Just looking at the number of files you have on your computer might overwhelm you. Take some time and get rid of your digital clutter! We also have to get rid of things that are distracting us and robbing us of time. There are so many time wasters that add no positive value to our lives. Maybe it’s a game your addicted to or binge- watching TV series. Entertainment can be good but over doing it is a major waste of time. Ephesians 5:16 Redeem the time, because the days are evil. One last thing in this category. If we want to experience supernatural acceleration, we will have to cut off things that are questionable in our lives. Some things are not listed as sin in the Bible, but that doesn’t mean they are right. If we are doing anything that is not done in faith or with a clean conscience, it is sin and it will burden us down. Romans 14:22-23 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. Unnecessary and questionable things can steal power, bring guilt, dull spiritual sensitivity, and burden us down. If you feel worse after watching something or doing something, then you can be sure it’s something to cut off. Overcome Resistance! Ephesians 2,1-2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world There is a course or a current of this world - a way that the river of this world is flowing. Most people just move in the same direction that the current is flowing. To accelerate supernaturally, we will have to use our authority over overcome it. This flow of the world comes against us all the time. It’s always trying to push us backward. It’s trying to hinder our progress. The less resistance we have the faster we can move! Getting rid of the stuff that we mentioned will reduce the resistance! Airplanes are specifically built to reduce aerodynamic drag. For example, all the rivets that hold the metal together are fitted flush. There are many other things that are built specifically reduce the wind resistance of an airplane. The less drag, the faster the plane can fly. Do whatever you need to do to reduce the resistance cause by the course of this world. Use your authority in Christ. The two main areas where we have to do this are the flesh and the devil. James 5:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Just to be clear, if we resist God, we cannot resist the devil. If we submit to God, He will help us and give us the grace we need to resist the devil. If you flow in the direction that God is flowing, you will move faster. If you are flying against His wind, it will make life hard! The Spirit filled life is the life of supernatural acceleration. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. God’s mighty Spirit will lead us from glory to glory. We need to be filled, empowered, and led by His Spirit. Being filled with the Spirit is a life lived under His influence. We do things that we normally would never think of or be courageous enough to do. Other things we don’t do because they are now abhorrent to our spiritual appetite. I have flown many times from the USA to Europe and from Europe to the USA. A flight from Munich to Atlanta takes an average of 11 hours and 5 minutes. There are jet streams which create a headwind when flying from east to west. The head wind slows the plane down. The flight from Atlanta to Munich takes an average of 9 hours and 4 minutes. Going the other direction, those same jet streams create a tail wind that causes acceleration! The Holy Spirit is sometimes symbolized as wind in the Bible. (Acts 2:1-4) Get filled with the Spirit! Drink more of the new wine until you are under His influence! Let the mighty wind of the Spirit move you. Go in the direction that He is flowing! He will lift you up and be the wind beneath your wings. He will help you go faster and further! He will grant you supernatural acceleration. Supernatural acceleration is not a matter of working harder. It’s about US DOING LESS in the flesh and MAKING MORE ROOM FOR HIM to work supernaturally! As I said, to experience supernatural acceleration we need reduce weight, overcome resistance, and increase power. We are living in difficult times and God wants to show forth His glory to the multitudes who are suffering. He wants us to reach out to those who have never heard. He wants us to go further and faster. The more resistance there is in the world, the more power of His Holy Spirit we will need. Let Zechariah 4:6 be a verse that we call on over and over in these days! Zechariah 4:6 So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts. This is not just the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel! It is the word of the Lord to each of us! Believe God for more of His supernatural working in your life and ministry! Believe God for supernatural acceleration! Grace and peace be multiplied to you in Jesus! Back
